Lexington, KY - In a down economy, people look to save money any way they can…especially on big ticket purchases like automobiles. There is a new online auto sale scam that has turned up out of Florida.

It's called extrememotorcarsinc.com. Your BBB has received some inquiries about this website. It appears to offer late model vehicles in excellent condition for unbelievably low prices. They say it's because they are mostly repossessions. It advertises "used cars starting at $100."

We searched for a Mustang just to see what one would cost. We found one on their site, a 2009 model, loaded, for just $7,000!

Searching the same type of vehicle on the vehicle value search site Kelly Blue Book shows that a car like this, even if a private party were selling it to you, would be valued at over TWICE that price.

Sounds too good to be true! The Better Business Bureau in Florida says the company recently came to their attention and they are unable to process complaints because the address given is no good. The Florida BBB states that customers are told by extrememotorcarsinc.com to wire payment via moneygram, always a bad idea…because it's about impossible to trace it and get it back if there is a problem and you don't get your car.

What's worse, there is a legitimate, BBB Accredited car dealer in their area with almost the exact name, but that company's report says they do NOT sell cars online at all.

Don't let your excitement about an extra-good deal cloud your judgment about red flags like the ones associated with this company…so you don't fall for it.
