Union Workers Credit Services

Lexington, KY - If your credit history isn't so great, you may find it difficult to get a credit card…or one that does not have a sky high interest rate attached to it. So imagine if you received a letter in the mail that consumers have been asking us about at your Better Business Bureau.

The company is called Union Workers Credit Services. The consumer who sent us this told us she has a poor credit history…yet this letter offers her a 10-thousand dollar credit limit. That seems high even for people with good credit. It also offers a really low interest rate on purchases…just 5 percent! The recipient of the letter was excited to learn she was pre-approved for a platinum membership! All she has to do is send a $37 fee along with her signature to activate the card.

But a closer look reveals that the letter states the credit limit is good exclusively toward purchases from the credit provider. That means this is not a traditional VISA or Mastercard type credit card that can be used anywhere…this card is only good for products bought from Union Workers Credit Services' catalog.

According to the BBB in Texas, the company states that the fee also covers a membership in a discount buying club. The company has an "F" rating due to a pattern of complaints and unresolved complaints.

If you have bad credit, it is unlikely that an offer for a low interest traditional credit card is going to land in your mailbox. If you get this offer in the mail, don't fall for it.
